Dr Christine Mangala Frost reposed in the Lord

We are very sad to announce the passing to the Lord on 7 September 2022 of one of our Institute’s family here in Cambridge, our Research Associate Dr Christine Mangala Frost. During her many years with the Institute, Mangala taught for several of our degree programmes, led a series of research seminars, and gave many talks at IOCS events. Among her many publications, her book ‘The Human Icon: A Comparative Study of Hindu and Orthodox Christian Beliefs’ (James Clarke: Cambridge, 2017) represented the fruition of her lifelong experience of ‘being Hindu and becoming Orthodox’ and was commended by reviewers as a breakthrough contribution to inter-faith dialogue.
For us, she was a most beloved friend and a true follower of Christ, who has inspired us both in our lives and in our work through her supreme wisdom, clarity of faith, and loving kindness, as well as unparalleled scholarship and erudition. She will always be an inspiration to us all. We pray to our good Lord to grant His strength and peace to her grieving family.
Memory eternal!
